County and charitable arts, nonprofit, and other civic organizations can apply to use the Main Theater, the Vault, or the Classroom spaces for arts-related programming. Through five seasons of the Community Arts Partnership, our 50+ community partners have enriched the lives of more than 50,000 patrons.
Season 6 will run from September 2026 – June 2027.
On behalf of Fairfax County, ArtsFairfax manages the online application process for community arts use of Capital One Hall. Capital One Hall invites its local community to use their spaces for performance, rehearsal, and other arts activities.

December 20, 2026 | Celebrating its 62nd season, the American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras showcases the country’s most promising young musicians as they explore timeless compositions and modern classics. Based in Northern Virginia, AYPO is proud to provide opportunities for students to explore music and the arts in an educational environment.

November 15, 2026 | Día de los Muertos: Vibrations from the Afterlife
The Capital Wind Symphony transforms Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia into a full evening of ceremony, culture, and music unlike anything the region has seen. Beginning in the lobby, alive with a community ofrenda, live mariachi, hands-on cultural activities, and traditional foods, the celebration moves into the concert hall for a program curated around the intersecting themes of grief, memory, ritual, and joyful return. Works by Revueltas, Stravinsky, George Walker, Contreras, and H. Owen Reed, among others, are drawn together not by geography alone but by a shared truth: that honoring those who came before us is one of the most universal acts in human experience. Bilingual narration guides audiences through the music and its meaning, and the mariachi ensemble joins the symphony onstage for a finale that unites two traditions into one extraordinary close. This is not an ordinary concert, and it is not to be missed. Concert Preshow will be at 6:00pm and will lead into the Concert at 7:00pm.

Presented by the Educational and Charitable Foundation (ECF), this signature event offers an immersive experience in the creative arts, bringing together literature, music, visual art, and performance in a way that inspires, educates, and transforms.
Guests will enjoy an unforgettable afternoon featuring an internationally acclaimed author, who will share insights from their latest work through an engaging reading and exclusive book signing. March 14, 2027 | The Jubil-Aires will be sharing the stage with Bella Nova (a Harmony, Inc. chorus), a number of quartets from both groups, and a Choral group from Westfield High School. In addition, violinist Peter Haase (who spent 10 years with the Atlanta Symphony under Robert Shaw and 34 years with the National Symphony, will once again perform with us.

Multiple Dates Coming Soon| Gin Dance Company's production of "Lightning" features four compelling and distinct pieces that explore the depths of human emotion and storytelling through movement. The title piece, “Lightning”, is a powerful new work which, through the energy and sound of lightning and thunder, Shu-Chen explores this phenomena of nature to create the energy of the movement and delves into the deeper human feelings and emotion felt when lighting strikes. Some people may feel frightened, anxious, vulnerable, or fearful, while others may feel excitement, energetic, powerful, or captivated. Also, remember lightning creates electricity. That brings a completely different energy and shape to this work. Shu-Chen looks into lightning through all different lenses to explore the possibilities of Lightning.

Nov 13: A soldier, a violin, and a deal with the devil—L'Histoire du Soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) is one of the most inventive and entertaining works in classical music. Blending theater, storytelling, dance, and a razor-sharp chamber ensemble, the piece moves with the energy of a folktale but asks timeless questions about ambition, happiness, and what we give up in pursuit of more. Audiences can expect music that is witty, rhythmic, and surprisingly modern—an unforgettable evening that joins classical music and theater. This performance is fully staged, with narration in English. Directed by Corinne Hayes.
March 13, 2027 | Inspired by the ancient wisdom of the 24 Chinese Solar Terms, this dance showcase unfolds the ever-turning cycle of life through the passing of the four seasons. As ethereal spirits of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter entrust one another with the care of the natural world, Chinese classical and folk dances bring to life the imagery and quiet magic woven into the rhythms of nature. Step into a realm where beauty and tradition meet, and every season tells a story of renewal. Greater Washington Chinese Dance (gwcd.dance) was established in 2022 as the non-profit affiliate of Xuejuan Dance Ensemble (XDE, xjdance.org). lts aim is to bring the art of Chinese dance to diverse audiences in America.
March 19 - March 20, 2027 | This play is a whimsical yet socially conscious radio play that blends satire with commentary on political ambition and social justice. The story follows an enterprising cat who, despite his animal nature, demonstrates remarkable political acumen and determination. Through a series of clever maneuvers and strategic alliances, the cat works his way up the political ladder, navigating bureaucratic obstacles and rival candidates. His journey is both humorous and symbolic, reflecting Miller’s interest in the mechanisms of power and the ways in which individuals—regardless of background—can influence political outcomes.

September 11, 2026 | The mission of Novasian Chorus is to provide opportunities for music lovers studying vocal knowledge and to serve the community by promoting choral group singing and participating in local cultural activities.

The Iranian-American Community Center (IACC) is a registered, non-profit organization with a 501 (c)(3) designation from the IRS. IACC’s vision is to share and preserve the Iranian culture in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area through the creation of a community and a center that serves as a hub for educational activities, cultural events, and community services.

"In the early years of the Republic of China, White Rose, a renowned Peking Opera troupe in Jiangnan, was destroyed by a mysterious fire. The troupe leader, his wife, and their two sons perished, leaving only their two-year-old daughter, Lili, who survived.
For twenty years, Lili and the troupe's surviving friends lived in poverty, waiting for the chance to avenge the tragedy. They eventually arrived in Shanghai to confront the man responsible for the arson.
In 1930s Shanghai, the New World Grand Theater stages a spectacular New Year's Gala featuring ballet, opera, Peking Opera, song and dance, and comedy. Lili, now an accomplished performer, mesmerizes the audience with her extraordinary talent. But as the curtain falls, the theater manager is found dead backstage—the arsonist has finally met the justice he deserved."
December 19, 2026 | Celebrate the joy of the holiday season with The McLean Symphony in a festive concert called "A Home for the Holidays" filled with beloved classics, seasonal favorites, and dazzling artistry. Acclaimed pianist Mark Livshits joins the orchestra for Tchaikovsky's brilliant Concert Fantasy, a virtuosic masterpiece overflowing with lyrical beauty and sparkling brilliance.
The program opens with Nigel Hess's spirited Christmas Overture and continues with cherished holiday music, including Joy to the World, a selection of Hanukkah songs featuring Cantor Shochet, and Bob Krogstad's nostalgic Christmas at the Movies, celebrating memorable film music of the season. The festivities continue with audience favorites including Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Jingle Bells, before concluding with Leroy Anderson's timeless Sleigh Ride.
April 10, 2027 | The Vienna Jammers are a dynamic youth percussion ensemble from Vienna, VA, featuring 8-18 year-olds who create music using marimbas, hand drums, steel pans, and even unconventional instruments like trash cans. Founded in 2005, the group performs original compositions and popular song arrangements at local events and venues, captivating audiences with their creativity and energy.

June 12, 2027 | Virginia Bronze is a community handbell ensemble based in Northern Virginia and is comprised of musicians who are committed to the advancement of our instrument through the presentation of challenging, diverse, new and innovative music that showcases the breadth of handbells. The organization recruits members seeking to serve as ambassadors of the art of handbell ringing through our performances and other events we host such as workshops, festivals, other ringing events and along with our work with local Title 1 schools.
Multiple Dates | The VCO is unique among Northern Virginia-based orchestras in having engaged only fully professional players since it was founded, paying every player full union scale and benefits for each rehearsal and concert. Outreach initiatives include television broadcasts and streaming videos on the Internet, serving all area schools and very large numbers of schools nationwide. Video screening programs for the general public are presented in central libraries and area museums, now including the National Archives in Washington, DC. Performing 9/12/26, 10/11/26, 12/20/26, 2/14/27 in The Vault and 3/12/27 in the Main Theater.
January 15 - January 17, 2027 | The Virginia Thespian Festival is a celebration of young theatre artists from all over Virginia, bringing together hundreds of middle and high school students to perform, learn, experience, and grow as artists and as human beings.
June 14, 2026 | The Washington Balalaika Society, a community orchestra of 50 musicians, performs on authentic folk instruments including balalaikas and domras, as well as accordions, traditional winds and percussion. For its spring concert, the Orchestra will present music from around the world including folk, folk dances, legendary classics and even American popular music. During the concert, the announcer will describe the instruments and audience members will hear their distinct musical sound. The Washington Balalaika Orchestra was founded almost 40 years ago with eight musicians in the basement of a McLean, Virginia townhouse. Today, it is the largest balalaika orchestra of its kind in America.
