Job Description
ASM Global, the world's leading venue management and services company, has an and immediate opening for the position of Show Marketing Manager in Tysons, Virginia. This individual must be creative and innovative and will be responsible for the development and implementation of all digital and social media campaigns, the creation of graphics and artwork to support internal and external initiatives. The individual will work with the Director of Marketing to support all performances, special events and catering sales, and related functions with the necessary artwork and design elements across the venue, Capital One Hall.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Administration Responsibilities:

Social (Digital) Media Responsibilities

  • Must be able to collaborate and work well with others, both inside and outside of the marketing department, working as part of a creative team
  • Oversees the development, management, and implementation of all digital strategies and campaigns, including all social media accounts, websites, electronic newsletters/eblasts, venue marquees, and LED displays across all three venues based on defined goals and benchmarks
  • Ensures that all strategies and designs are consistent with brand guidelines and stated initiatives and integrate across all channels of marketing (social media, SEO, content marketing, email, print and digital marketing) to support brand awareness (venues) and show promotion
  • Create and manage social content using Hootsuite, or a similar social media content management platform
  • Manage online reputation on Google and other online platforms and respond to customer inquiries and comments
  • Create and manage all digital/social advertising campaigns based on internal and external requirements to support shows and events at each venue
  • Design, create and distribute weekly electronic newsletter and eblasts, and maintain user/subscriber database
  • Develop a plan to convert followers into customers, and customers into advocates
  • Contribute to the creation of relevant, original, high-quality content across all digital channels/platforms including video, still photography, and graphic/infographic assets and designs
  • Stay current on social media/digital marketing trends and strategies and use those strategies as appropriate
  • Implement a digital content calendar to manage multiple platforms and accounts across multiple venues
  • Respond to inquiries, comments, and direct message across all social media accounts
  • Maintain and organize existing and future catalog of digital images across all three venues

General Marketing

  • Research shows, artists, and talent in support of the development of marketing plans and promotions
  • Creates and supervises marketing plans for events, to include all available services: subscriptions, group sales, public relations, media placement, digital campaigns, direct mail, promotional development, non -profit opportunities, traditional and non-traditional
  • Update and maintain venue marketing assets, including poster cases
  • Create final marketing settlements for events in cooperation with Director of Marketing
  • Manages, develops, produces, and distributes promotional and collateral materials to support sales and marketing programs, including direct mail
  • Manages Box Office reporting to Pollstar and Billboard
  • Provides post-event reports, analysis, and regular status reports on Marketing programs
  • Oversees communication with patrons before and after (surveys) each show and compiles report to show results
  • Defines marketing department staffing needs for each show, creates a staffing schedule and represents the department or serves as Manager on Duty, on day-of-show, as needed
  • Other Marketing duties as assigned

Graphic Design Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging, exciting, and compelling content and designs for social media, websites, posters, digital banner ads, display ads, print, video, etc.
  • Create superior looking layouts for proposals, presentations, and other print/digital materials as needed
  • Maintain an understanding of the latest trends and applications in creative design and their implementation in the commercial marketplace

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Marketing, Graphic Design or related field or similar experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Sales in the entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience designing and creating professional, engaging, and compelling graphics and images for commercial use
  • Experience with digital/social media planning and placement
  • Exposure to and familiarity with similar venues or and ticketed business
  • Experience creating growth strategies on social media platforms and building followers with proven results
  • Experience working with a major market venue and/or media planner preferred
  • Experience working with entertainment artists/agencies preferred

 

Skills and Abilities

  • A strong creative skillset and eye for visual composition
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a supporting portfolio
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator
  • Proficiency with SEO/SEM, and Google Analytics optimization
  • Proficient in content management systems and general familiarity with web design
  • Proficiency in Mailchimp, or similar email marketing platforms
  • Experience with social media tracking methods, including pixel placement
  • Experience capturing and editing video for social media and other platforms
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Must be a "Self-Starter" and have the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator). Must be technologically savvy. Basic HTML is

preferred. Knowledge of digital media and social network platforms is a must (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, YouTube, Groupon, etc.).
