ASM Global, the world’s leading venue management and services company, has an excellent and immediate opening for the position of Manager – Marketing & Social Strategy- ASM Global/ Capital One Hall. This individual will be responsible for general marketing support, digital and social media and moderate level graphic design. Additionally, work with the Director of Marketing on overall creative development of Capital One Hall’s performances, special events and catering sales, and related functions within the property.

Project Description

Capital One Hall is a multi-venue theater complex presently under construction at Capital One Center, located on the campus of Capital One headquarters in Fairfax County in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Capital One Hall features a 1600 seat performance hall, a 250 seat black box, a rooftop park encompassing a 150 seat amphitheater and an authentic Biergarten. The venue encompasses a spectacular Grand Lobby and Terrace, both spaces perfect for unique performances, pre-show activities, smaller musical acts, corporate gatherings and social events. This extraordinary, state of the art facility is located directly off the silver Metro line making it easily accessible locally and out of Washington D.C. proper. The anticipated performance season will run 12 months a year and will host a diverse, eclectic mix of entertainment including live music concerts, comedic acts, festivals and will proudly host many Fairfax County theatrical and symphonic groups including but not limited to organizations such as the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra, Washington West Film Festival and Ravel Dance.

Capital One Hall is owned by Capital One and will open in the Fall of 2021 and will be managed by ASM Global, a Los Angeles based company and a world leader in facility management who will operate this extraordinary complex in the best interest of its client, Capital One.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Social (Digital) Media Responsibilities

  • Must be able to collaborate and get along with others working as part of a creative team
  • Deliberate planning, strategy and goal setting of social benchmarks
  • Development of social brand awareness and online reputation
  • Social Content management
  • Cultivation of leads and sales
  • Reputation management and customer service support
  • Turn followers into customers
  • Turn customers into advocates
  • Administrate the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content (including videos) for all channels
  • Identify and improve organizational development aspects that would improve content
  • Create a regular publishing schedule and promote content through social advertising
  • Implement a content editorial calendar to manage content and plan specific, timely marketing campaigns.
  • Integrate all channels of marketing (social media, SEO, content marketing, email, print and digital marketing)
  • Maintain and update website
  • Support outside user social needs via Capital One Hall’s channels
  • Prepare email blasts
  • Manage or oversee all social advertising campaigns under the direction of the Director of Marketing

General Marketing

  • Create final marketing settlements for events in cooperation with Director of Marketing
  • Organize and place media buys as required
  • Foster relationships with outside organizations to support marketing activities of Capital One Hall

Graphic Design Responsibilities:

  • Handle moderate level graphic design work to include cutting, resizing and/or designing art for: social media, press, posters, banner ads, display ads, print, etc.
  • Create superior looking layouts for proposals and sponsorship presentations

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will support the Director of Marketing overseeing marketing, public relations, and group sales staff and any outsourced marketing vendor as assigned. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM Global’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Marketing, Graphic Design or related field or similar experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Sales in the entertainment industry or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Experience with media planning and placement
  • Exposure to and familiarity with similar venues or / and ticketed business
  • Experience creating follower growth on social media platforms with proven results
  • Experience working with a major market venue and/or media planner preferred
  • Experience working with entertainment / artists agencies preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to organize and track media buying and placement
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a supporting portfolio
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator
  • SEO/SEM, and Google Analytics optimization
  • Proficient in content management systems such as Word Press and general familiarity with web design
  • Skilled in email blast systems like Mailchimp and related integrations
  • Familiarity will pixel placing and similar social tracking methods
  • A strong eye for visual composition
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Must be a “Self-Starter” and have the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Crisis management skills

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of spreadsheet software and work processing software and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Illustrator. Must be technologically savvy. Adobe Creative Suite is preferred. Basic HTML is preferred. Knowledge of digital media and social network platforms is a must (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Linked In, Trip Advisor, etc.).
