Experience Israeli cellist Amit Peled as he performs Camille Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1 with an explosion of emotion from the first note! Regarded as the first “well-known” romantic concerto written in 1872 for the cello, the composition places this beautiful instrument front and center right from the start. Many composers, including Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff, considered this concerto to be the greatest of all cello concertos.
