Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record daily cash transactions, reviews and process vendor payments and customer deposits for catered events.
  • Review and account for all purchasing of beverage inventory and operating supplies.
  • Calculate and record beverage cost of goods sold each month.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare flash reports.
  • Reconcile daily cash and credit card receipts.
  • Record Journal Entries for catering and concession events
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients for catered events.  Track Accounts Receivable and follow up as necessary. Record revenue journal entries.
  • Assists as directed with all financial reporting, including:
    • Preparing monthly financial statements and other financial reports, including Balance Sheet and Income Statement
    • Maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue recognition and operating expenses.
    • Variance analysis as directed.
  • Prepares monthly tax filings for City and State (Sales and Use Tax)
  • Performs certain monthly close processes including bank reconciliations, account analyses, and financial reports as assigned.
  • Reviews financial statements for accuracy and explain variances.
  • Works flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours as necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university.

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to understand and manage unique and complex accounting situations.
  • Knowledge of general and cost accounting
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff including management
  • Ability to work irregular hours as dictated by the event schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Work with/maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules.

Computer Skills  

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
